Leo Reed – Editor and Lead Researcher

Leo Reed is the editor and lead researcher behind Gouwu3. This page explains what that work actually involves, how each article is put together, and how to reach him when something on the site is wrong.

What the role covers

Every article published on this site goes through the same process, and that process is the reason the role exists. Day to day it means four things:

  • Choosing what to write about. Topics are picked from questions readers actually search for — price differences between brands, materials, country of manufacture, authentication, and airline cabin rules — rather than from what would be convenient to publish.
  • Collecting the primary facts. Dimensions, weights, shell materials, warranty terms and country-of-origin statements are taken from manufacturer specification sheets and product pages, then re-checked before publication.
  • Checking prices. Price ranges quoted in an article are compared against current listings on major retailers so that the numbers reflect what a reader would pay today, not what a press release said at launch.
  • Editing for accuracy. Claims that cannot be traced back to a source are removed. Where a figure is an estimate, the article says so.

Where the information comes from

This is a research publication, not a testing laboratory, and the difference matters. We do not own a durability lab, and we do not claim to have drop-tested every suitcase we write about. What we do is read the specifications carefully, compare them against each other, cross-check retailer listings and documented owner reports, and explain what the differences mean in practice.

When a statement depends on a published specification — a shell material, a wheel type, a warranty length, a cabin size limit — the article is written so that a reader can verify it independently on the brand’s own site or on an airline’s baggage page.

What we will not do

  • We do not accept payment in exchange for a positive review, a ranking position, or a brand mention.
  • We do not publish sponsored articles presented as editorial content.
  • We do not copy text from other publications. Comparisons are written from the specifications themselves.

Some articles contain affiliate links, which are explained in detail on the affiliate disclosure page. A commission never decides whether a product is recommended.

Corrections

Product lines change, prices move and specifications get revised. If you find a figure on this site that no longer matches the manufacturer’s own documentation, tell us and the article will be corrected. Corrections are made to the article itself rather than buried in a comment.

Contact

Editorial questions, corrections and data requests can be sent to editor@gouwu3.com. Messages about a specific article should include the page URL so it can be located quickly.

A note on how this page is written. The description above reflects the editorial process this site actually follows. No employment history, certification or industry credential is claimed on this page that cannot be verified, because inventing one would defeat the purpose of publishing it.
