Privacy Policy

This policy explains what happens to information when you read a page on Gouwu3, what is collected automatically, what third parties can see, and what you can ask us to do about it.

Who is responsible

Gouwu3 publishes luggage and travel-gear research at https://www.gouwu3.com/en/. For anything in this policy, the contact address is editor@gouwu3.com.

What we collect

Reading this site does not require an account, a sign-up or a password, and we do not ask for your name or address to show you an article. Three kinds of information can still be involved:

• Server logs. Our web server records standard technical data for every request: the IP address that made it, the browser and operating system reported by the browser, the page requested, the referring page and the time of the request. These logs are used to keep the site online, diagnose faults and detect abuse.
• Messages you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. That message is kept only as long as needed to answer it and to keep a record of corrections.
• Cookies and similar storage. Small files placed by the site or by third-party services loaded on it. See the section below.

We do not ask for payment details, government identifiers, health information, or any other sensitive category of personal data.

Cookies

Cookies on this site fall into two groups:

• Essential. Used to serve pages correctly and to protect the site against abuse. These are set by the content management system and cannot be switched off without breaking the site.
• Third party. Set when a page loads a service operated by another company, or when you click a link to a retailer. Amazon, for example, sets its own cookies once you arrive on its site, under its own privacy notice.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site from working; blocking third-party cookies does not prevent you from reading any article here.

Third parties we rely on

• Hosting and content delivery. The site is served from servers that process requests on our behalf and keep the access logs described above.
• Amazon Associates. Product links may carry an affiliate tag. If you click one, Amazon records the referral under its own privacy policy. Details are on the affiliate disclosure page.
• Search engines. Search providers index public pages of this site. Their own policies govern what they retain.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share reader data with advertisers for cross-site behavioural targeting, and this site does not run display advertising networks.

How long information is kept

Server logs are rotated and discarded on a short cycle, typically within weeks. Email correspondence is kept for as long as it is useful for answering follow-up questions or documenting a correction.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data is held about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to object to certain processing, or to receive a copy in a portable format. Residents of the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom have these rights under the General Data Protection Regulation; residents of California have comparable rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act.

To make a request, email editor@gouwu3.com with enough detail to identify the data concerned — usually the email address you wrote from, or the IP address and approximate date of a visit. Requests are answered within 30 days.

Children

This site is written for adults making purchasing decisions. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Access to the publishing system is restricted to authorised editors with individual credentials. No system is perfectly secure, but the amount of personal data held here is deliberately kept small, which limits the consequences of any incident.

Changes to this policy

If the way this site handles data changes — for example if an analytics service is added — this page will be updated and the review date below will change. Material changes will be noted on the page itself rather than applied silently.
